Blue Iguana Car Wash

This state of the art drive-through car wash utilizes many high-tech and water-saving features.  With the company expanding into the Saint Louis area, the prototype design was developed for this first site.  The innovative modular PVC concrete form system with companion paneling is ideal for carwash facilities.  The design features curved entry and exit, and towers with blue hipped metal roofs, visible from the adjacent interstate highway and streets.

Brockland Buick GMC Dealership

Location:  Columbia, Illinois

The new 55,000 sf car dealership needed to fit the requirements of the local program as well as meet the national corporate design standards.  The exterior pairs white concrete masonry with aluminum storefront and composite panels.  The building incorporates a large open showroom floor and office wing with an attached service building.

Kingsway Retail Center

This retail center is located on an odd-shaped outlot, created as part of a larger commercial development. The building footprint is maximized based on required parking and setbacks.  The building is oriented so that all tenants face the curving streets. The design features towers and stepped parapets and bays to give individual identity to each tenant.

Kriegshauser Funeral Home/Berger Memorial

Two funeral homes were combined in an existing building, maintaining each separate identity.  The phased renovation allowed business to continue uninterrupted during construction.  The project provided new restrooms, offices, and selection rooms, as well as renovations to chapel areas.

Mercato di Rodi

Perfectly located at the corner of a new highway intersection, this quick service store represents a new Flagship design for Rhodes 101.  The building integrates classic brickwork and details into the contemporary structure.  The building features a drive-thru restaurant and self-service wine racks as well as the usual quick store drink and food service.

Arnold Stove and Fireplace

Squeezed onto a 1-acre out-lot of a larger development, site planning needed to take into account the locations of existing major telecommunication lines and other utilities.  Careful siting permitted the maximum size store and parking.  Stone and masonry accents, a large classically detailed cornice and a hipped-roofed portico accent the EIFS façade.

This expanding company has developed a strong presence in southern Missouri and suburban Saint Louis.  Although designed for an odd shaped site, the building maintains features which conform to the corporate image.  The contractor uses an innovative method of poured-in-place concrete which saves costs and provides a durable and maintenance free exterior.  Levine Associates has continued to work with Plaza Tire on  similar new buildings and renovations in Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri.

Promise Center

This multi-tenant retail center is located in a fast-growing corridor in Saint Charles county.  The design features a decorative brick facade with distinctive horizontal storefront mullions, and an inverted stucco cornice.  The facade is broken up by three “towers”, the corner ones capped with colored metal roofing.  The entire center was pre-leased prior to construction.

Village Square Office Building

An abandoned bowling alley was an ideal shell to be converted to a multi-tenant office building.  It makes a perfect complement to the already renovated adjacent shopping center.  The 250-foot long exterior had no openings except for a non-descript vestibule.  The renovation project included new storefront and window openings.  The synthetic plaster exterior treatment, combined with the existing brick includes many elements matching the adjacent center. Walgreens Drug Stores

National standards from Walgreens’ corporate headquarters are incorporated into free-standing buildings, adapted for specific site conditions.  Both of these properties included extensive zoning review as well as specific design modifications for site conditions.

Emerald Cove Office Park

Straddling the entry to a new multi-family development, these office buildings are design for single users or multiple tenants.  The site layout orients building entries toward private parking areas for each tenant.  The “Prairie Style” building design incorporates long ribbons of glazing, stone veneers, precast concrete accents and metal roofing for a distinctive look.
